Program
Mission The Master of Science in
Computer Science and Engineering (MS in CSE) program offered by the
Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department at East West University
is organized into five broad areas: (1) theoretical computer science, (2)
software systems, (3) intelligent systems, (4) hardware systems and CAD,
and (5) VLSI systems and CAD. A student must earn at least 33 credits for
obtaining MS in CSE degree. The student must satisfy course requirements
in "kernel" areas of theoretical computer science, software systems,
intelligent systems, and hardware systems and CAD. The purpose of the
kernel is to give the student broad training in the major areas of
computer science and engineering. In addition, the student must satisfy
course requirements in any of the "concentration" areas of software
systems, intelligent systems, hardware systems and CAD, and VLSI systems
and CAD. The purpose of the concentration is to allow the students to
build expertise in a specific area of computer science and engineering.
The student must also complete a master's thesis in his/her concentration
area under the guidance of any faculty members of the department. Besides
the kernel and concentration course requirements, all students must take a
compulsory course on management of information technology, which will
provide them a broad spectrum of knowledge of tools, approaches and
