I am with a shipping company for last 5 years, completed my MSS from the department of international relations, now I am working with sales department &38; doing well. I have the adequate computer knowledge of MS Office 2000. My question is what I should do for my further development of my career as company is recruiting more MBAs with high initial salary. Should I change my career after serving 5 years?

Thank you for your query at Career Expert Panel. In the current business world employers are more and more hiring business graduates rather than the graduates from other subjects as business graduates are more familiar with the business issues compared to the graduates from other subjects. We suggest you also, to pursue a business degree like MBA, if you can manage time. This in the long term will benefit you in case of career progression. However if you cannot manage time or money to go for an MBA degree you still can study informally on the different business related subject. This will pay you off in terms of self-confidence and broader knowledge on different business related issues. Regarding switching your present job, it’s better to keep your eyes open for a better opportunity especially after serving for a long time.

Best of luck.
